Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

Commissioned and paid Artist...work never done

I commissioned a Texas artist to do work for me. I paid in full and in advance for two commissions. One commission was poorly done, and the second commission was never done. What is my recourse? Thank you for your time.

Re: Commissioned and paid Artist...work never done

It depends upon the value of the work, but if the amount paid was less than $10,000.00, you can sue him in the JP court of his residence. (Unless you have a contract with him that has other provisions).

The work that was not done, should not pose a problem; however, the work that you describe as poorly done will likely be a problem. Art is often in the eye of the beholder.
