Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

out of warranty lemon car

We purchased a VW new beetle in feb 2000. Since that time it jhas been to the repair shop so many times I spend more time there than at home. In less than 4 years I have had to have 48 different repaired. The warranty expired in Aug. 2002 and we decided that it was necessary to buy an extended warranty. Since the warranty expired there have been app. one dozen things repaired.Several of the defects were repeats of the same problem. I contacted VW and they said there was nothing they could or would do. Is there anything that can be done about a car that isapparently a piece of junk?

Re: out of warranty lemon car

You could sue for breach of contract before the statute of limitations runs in Feb.'04. It's too late to invoke either the "Lemon" Law or the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
