Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Can a company call you at work and demand you pay on a debt right then or they will send to the constable in my state. I asked what kind of company they were and she wouldn't really say. I asked if they were a debt collection company or a lawyer and she never really said , just that she was trying to collect on a debt. I looked on there website and it says they are a debt collection company.

It violates the law..but u have to sue them to collect...
