Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Credit card fraud

client ordered glass, we bought materials, performed the labor and fabricated the product. we then ran the card which was approved several days later the client called and asked us to use a different card and take care of the shipping. At the time the order was placed, client was to pick up order at shop. The client then told us the shipper needed a money order transfer from proceeds of 2nd credit card. We became suspicious after telling the client to take care of it himself that we were not set up to handle it ourselves. After several phone calls from shipper and client we contacted the F.B.I. thinking our client was being a victim of fraud. Thru their investigation both were fraudulent. Product is still at our shop and cannot be used again and credit card company is asking for the money for the glass back. We have been victimized. What recourse do we have?

Re: Credit card fraud

Probably none, unless your business risk insurance will give you some coverage. Remind the credit card company that they had approved the transaction in the first place. How long was it between the initial carding and the credit card company contacting you? If the card holder delays too long, the credit card company may have to swallow it.
