i have a payday loan that i am now unable to pay what can they do to me

The first thing they'll do is try to scare you.

If they want to, they can sue you for the debt. But this is the LAST thing they'll do. Before they do that, they'll try 76 different scare tactics, harassment tactics, and threats. Endless phone calls at your home and at work. Threatening letters that will claim they're going to garnish your wages (they can't). That sort of thing.
