Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I applied for a credit card and on the application I put a higher salary. I got approved for the card but they have sent me a form for the IRS and they said its mainly to verify my personal information since I have been a victim of identity theft and there is a freeze on my credit report. Can I get in trouble for lying about my salary? The year they are requesting is 2011 an they said they understand that things change but some people have told me not to send form. I would think that the worse that could happen is they might lower my credit limit or just close mg account. What do you think?

Yes you can - it is a felony to misrepresent salary to get credit.
