Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

felony or offense involving moral turpitude

If I am applying for a new teaching position, and the application states,''Have you ever been convicted of a felony or offense involving moral turpitude?''

I was arrested in Texas /1986 Theft 0/20 u/200 Rel on writ of Habea's Corpus-I was caught trying to steal a shirt from JC Penney.

Must I put yes and tell them the crime?I will never get a teaching job.

An arrest is not a conviction. If you did not pay a fine there may be hope. Expunction is the word. http://www.reasonable-doubt.com GO there and look under the criminal law section...
