Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
So on July 1st a police officer, posing as a minor, in a chatroom stated "hey I'm 14, let's trade pics". I messaged her my number, no response.
I get a call this morning, the 6th, from a detective in Alabama stating that the 14 year old was indeed a cop. He aslo read back the message.
He than stated that I have two options.
Option 1:
Spend 15 years in Alabama prison and everyone will know what I did.
Option 2: Become a confidential informant, posing as 14-16 year old girl in chat rooms.
Obviously #2 is the better choice.
So that's what I chose.
He than asked me the following questions:
My full name
If I drive
How long have I lived at my house
If I rent, lease, or own.
He said that the state should approve me for CI status and that he was going to call me back with the information.
However according to him, the "girl" didn't say she was sending nude photographs. She said "let's trade pics". I remember her saying that as well.
Usually when I do trade pics its usually my face of pics of my abs.

Hire a lawyer. Do not talk any further with anyone else. This does NOT sound right at all.
