Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Mail Fraud

My son (John--name removed-- pleaded guilty to a felony offence (Conspiracy to Commit Mail Fraud) on March 18, 2002 in Judge McBrydes Court, Fort Worth Division, Case no. 4:01-CR-164-A (05). Title 18, Sect 371 & 1341 1) I am trying to find out for him the classification of his offence. 2) Also since he has had no offences, neither state nor federal, since his release and finished his Probation with a good record, is it possible and is there a procedure to have his record expunged so he will be allowed to join the US Army?

Thanks

Re: Mail Fraud

It is highly unlikely that he will be able to get an expunction. Get a copy of his file from the court clerk and take it to a criminal defense lawyer that has federal experience. The consultation fee will be worth it to examine the file and get a specific response to his specific situation.
