Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

What would the penalty be if I say I falsified facts of a police report, out of retaliation cuz my kids dad took them from me for no reason. His pending charges are aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and 2 child endangerments. I want to drop charges but they are saying that the state will pick it up no matter what..even with filing an ANP and signing my rights over to him to show that I know he's not and endangerment to our kids

Many people, like yourself, are confused about the way the law works. First, you never filed the charges. The police filed the cases. But they based part of the information on facts you gave them. The prosecutors may want to hear what you have to say, but they do not have to withdraw or dismiss the charge just because you want it. Again, the police are there to testify as to what their investigation revealed.

You could be charged with filing a False Police Report, a Class B misdemeanor.
