Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

my roommate went to a friends house and while there he gave her something for a headache, later she became drowsy and lost consciousness. when she regained consciousness she realized that she was drugged and was raping her. she didn't tell me about it until 5 days later. that night i took her to the police station and they had her fill out a report and said that they would push it through and work on collecting evidence. we didn't hear back from them until a week later and they said that they still haven't collected the evidence because they wanted to wait until she talked to the detective. now shes afraid that by now hes already cleaned his room and there wont be anything for them to find so she scared about the trial and having to face him just to have him getting to walk. what can i tell her about the likely outcome of the trial.

Go ahead and keep hounding the police to get them to do their job (they sound like keystone cops), but consider suing him for battery. YOU are in control of a civil case, not the police.
