Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Should I worry suspicion of shoplifting

To make a long story short, I went shopping. I purchased one item in a store, did not take a bag but had the receipt attached to the item (sticking out of the box). I went into another retailer with said box and receipt. I did not purchase anything and when I left the store it became obvious that the staff thought I had not paid for the item. Two staff came to the door to observe me at my car. I held up the item and said I bought this at another store. They said, okay. Being concerned I went back in to the store and asked if they need to see my receipt they indicated things were okay- the receipt was sticking out of the box but they did not inspect it. However, I am worried that they were refraining from confrontation and may have reported my licence plate to the police for follow up. Do I have reason for concern and if so what should I do? I normally would not be so concerned but my husband was with me; he would like to apply for citizenship in 18 months and I understand that he could have problems if anything came of this instance. Thank you.
