a registered sex offender lives across the street from rental property I own. What is the best way to inform renters of this potential danger to their children without

stating that I prefer not to rent to a family with children?

Re: rental property

I'm not certain of your primary concern in reading your query. However, if your primary concern is offending the sex offender and/or violating some sort of privacy right, I wouldn't worry about it. Sex offender registration, in most (if not all) states is a public record process, designed to provide public information to all. You can simply tell prospective renters about the criminal status of the neighbor and then let them make their own decision. If you don't want to rent to persons with children, I am aware of no law that would make illegal discrimination on that basis.
