Can I work as a waitress in a restaurant that serves alcohol if I'm on deferred adjudication for a DWI

Well, for starters, there is no Deferred Adjudication for DWI in Texas. If you are on "straight probation," and there are requirements that you not be present where alcoholic beverages are sold, you may need to approach the Judge who placed you on probation and seek a modification to allow to you work at the restaurant. I suggest you have your lawyer handle this for you.

If you are on a pre-trial diversion program through your local county prosecutor's office, you may need to have your lawyer contact them about amending the agreement or getting permission to take the job.

In this situation, it is much better to ask for permission now than to seek forgiveness later.
