Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

11 yrs ago I signed over my rights for adoption to cps. My children have recently found me. My son got into an altercation with the adoptive mothers new husband. As a result they kicked him out & had him arrested. He is 17 will be 18 in a week. Can I bail him out & bring him to live with me legally & not suffer any legal matters? They will surely be very upset once they find out & may try to come after me legally or not.

It is unlikely that anything can or will happen within the 7 days that would back to you. Once he turns 18 he is an adult for civil and family law purposes, and I can think of no reason why it would have any legal consequence to bail him out and have him live with you. During the interim week, the issue is more gray. He is an adult under the criminal statutes. The family court orders that may or may not restrict his residence would be at issue. Since they kicked him out, and are the complainants in the criminal case; it is likely that there is a bail condition, or protective order that prevents contact with them. Again, practically speaking, I cannot imagine what complaint they could have, or who would care anyway.
