Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Hi. I was arrested for a child support case that I was on probation for. I paid the $5,000 cash bond in order to be released. I have court in two weeks. I was told those $5,000 would go toward my arrears and would be released to the attorney general when I go to court. My question is, can they sentence me to time in jail when I go to court even if I paid the $5000 cash bond?

Yes. A stupid change in the law in 2013 permits them to find you in contempt and send you to jail even if at the time of the trial you are all paid up. http://blog.powerdaley.com/2013/09/why-i-disagree-with-2013-changes-to.html
