Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Custody

I was divorced in WA but live in NY and my ex lives in TX. We have a WA state parenting plan - my ex has primary custody but we have the same rights regarding all major decisions. My daughter was abused by her daycare teacher when she was 3 - now 7. She has been in therapy for trauma and emotional problems all related to this incident. My ex filed a law suit and finally is being asked to fly to WA to have our daughter speak at a deposition (OCT) and stand trial in March. I do not agree with this and feel her therapy and her missing school would only set her back. Also, flying away form her home and stability twice for this is not right!

Do I have any rights here??

Re: Child Custody

If you refuse or fail to follow your child's lawyer and the Court's direction concerning "discovery," the Court can dismiss the case and charge costs and disbursements incurred by the other side against you.

Also, please note, school work can be provided to your child in advance to take on the trip/s; and travel time with a parent's "full undivided attention" can be a beneficial experience.
