Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

When do child support payments stop?

Does child support payments stop when the child turns 18 or graduates? For instance if a child graduates a full year early at the age of 17 (is a 3 yr graduate) does child support end then or when the child turns 18? If it does end when the child graduates and they graduate June 6th does child support still get paid for the month of June or will the last payment be the May payment? What if the child starts college courses in July so is still continuing education after graduating but doesn't turn 18 until October? Exactly ''when'' does child support payments end?

Re: When do child support payments stop?

Child support ceases when the child turns age 18, or when the child graduates from secondary school, whichever is later. Therefore, the child support does not stop until the child turns age 18.
