Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Civil divorce

In a civil divorce case in a community property state , such as Texas, how is ''inherited property/assets'' classified regarding distribution? Are these assets lumped with other property for distribution; or are they considered the sole property of the heir and not subject to be split with the other partner?

Re: Civil divorce

A brief answer would be that separate property is not part of the community estate.

However, if the money has been co-mingled it is often difficult to prove the separate estate.
