Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Credit responsibility

When you are married, if you purchase items on credit in only one persons name, when you divorce then is the person whose name the credit is in the one who is responsible for paying the debt? A vehicle purchased in one persons name is repossessed because of the divorce so the only person who suffers is the person whose name the vehicle is in even though bought while married.

Re: Credit responsibility

Well I can understand how you might like your answer to be the right one. I laughed when I read it, I too like to ask a question and then give my answer to help in the response. In law school I would give what I thought was the right answer. If you see a person drownding, you only have to trow a life preserver which is right next to you. Do you have to throw the ring? The answer is NO! Not all answers are what we want to hear.Your question does not contain enough info for any of us to answer it.
