Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My decree states that i shall provide to my ex "a copy of a paycheck showing year-to-date income on a quarterly basis and shall release other information as is necessary to demonstrate his adherence to the foregoing"

My ex is telling me to give her my 2012 and 2013 tax return papaerwork and my W2's.

The decree does not say that she get's these items or that she is the person that decides what is "necessary".

Do I have to give these documents to her?

It appears from what you have written it is vague as to what you are required to produce.

I assume she wants to confirm your income and make sure that the paystubs are you only source of income. Child support, as you know, is based on your net resources which is more than just your paychecks.

You an refuse and she can ask the judge to hold you in contempt.

Or, you can give her additional information to satisfy her curiosity.

I dislike orders that are vague - you signed an order without specifying what you have to produce.

You did agree to release other information as is necessary to demonstrate your adherance.

You might want to talk to a family law attorney familiar with the judge assigned to your case for his/her opinion of what the judge would do in your case.

Good luck!
