Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Enforcement of Monetary Award from Another State

My divorce decree was in Texas, I now live in Alaska. Part of the decree required my ex to pay $5000 or monthly payments to me. He has not complied. I want to know can I pursue this in the Alaska courts, or do I have to finish this in Texas, the place of our divorce, and where my ex still resides?

Re: Enforcement of Monetary Award from Another State

If your ex lives in Texas, then jurisdiction will remain here for enforcement.

I don't know Alaska law, so you might want to talk to an attorney in your state.

Good luck!
