Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My ex-husband was awarded our home. He refuses to refinance to remove my name and is now living in another city and has it rented out. Is there anything I can do to make him remove me off the house so my credit is not effected?

You cannot make a third party, a mortgage company, give him a new mortgage.

You need to meet with a real estate attorney and see if you can force a court to make him sell the property.

Unfortunately, I see this happen a lot in divorces. Most people do not understand the implications of their divorce decree as the years pass.
