Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

What to expect from social worker and study.

I will be visited in the near future by a social worker to do a study for a child custody battle. What can I expect then to do? Will the look in my refrigerator to see if it is clean? Will they do a white glove test to make sure I recently dusted? I am just looking for general information to get a better understanding what to expect.

No, you do not have to be concerned about a white glove test. Your home should be clean and safe. Consider the age of the child, and make sure that there are age-appropriate accommodations. (toys, beds, furniture, safety locks, medicine cabinets etc.) Dress appropriately and expect a 45 min to one hour visit to your home. There will be questions as well as the inspection of your home.

Perfection is not the goal. A loving, clean, safe, cared-for environment is the goal.

Good luck to you.
