How old would my grandson have to be to be trustee of my estate (he is 17)

He would have to be an adult - 18.

I assume that you do not want him to be a trustee.

I assume that you would want him to inherit your estate or be independent executor of your estate.

I highly recommend that you talk to an estate planning attorney about what you are trying to do.

Most of the internet wills are not appropriate for the State of Texas. They say that they are but if they do not include very specific language then your probate of your estate when you die will be a nightmare for your heirs. So please, please, please do not try to do this yourself -- please hire an attorney to help you.
