Re: Juvenile Laws in Texas

A child is a minor until the age of 18. However, many "children" take steps to emancipate themselves from their parents home before that age, e.g. marriage, living away from home, etc. If the minor is able to support themselves, the parents are no longer responsible for them at whatever age. The parents can take action against a runaway child until the age of 18. Most juvenile authorities will not take any action in response to the parents complaint after age 17.
