legal aide for child support assistance

i am a separated woman who was a stay-at-home mom for 5 yrs. due to extreme mental and verbal abuse, we separated. I have no means of support and he refuses to pay any child support. he now has given me the car payment which was in my mom's name and i will be without a car soon. is there any assistance for women like me. please, please help me fiind out this information.

Assuming he is the father of the children and not

a step-parent, it sounds like you need to get a

court to order child support. An attorney could help,

or if you cannot afford one then you can try to

use the attorney general's office or a local legal

services program. Refer to your local bar association

for the specific programs in your area. Note that

many of these programs will not do it all for you like

an attorney would, but of course you get what you

pay for. You may also refer to a local law library. I
