Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Mold

i am in a mobile home that is full of mold throughout the entire house. all 3 of us living in the home have asthma and have stayed sick the 10 months we have been there. i requested the mold to be cleaned 4 months ago and my landlady told me to take vinegar and water and clean the wall. it is in the drywall and has even ruined the pictures hanging on the wall. what are my legal options and who should i call to have someone come out and look at it. the health department said they couldnt help me. the leaks in this mobile home are so bad you can see the water stains where the rain has been running down the wall.

Re: Mold

Isn't it amazing how the health department allows housing like this to be rented which endangers the health of the occupants? Sounds like you have all the elements of damages, but I don't know whether or not your landlady could pay all the bills or whether she has insurance for this type of claim. It's one thing to have a claim, it's another thing to find somebody financially responsible and another thing to collect. Sound like you're best bet would be to find another place to live as soon as you can.

Re: Mold

Mr. Grissom is correct. You need to begin looking at an alternative living location. My firm might be interested in assisting you with finding out if your landlady would be responsible or if your landlady would NOT be responsible. If you need assistance, please contact my office manager Mr. Ed Smith ([email protected]).
