Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

The mother of my child moved away during her pregnancy to another state. The act of having the baby happened here in Texas, she moved to Georgia. What chances do I have with signing the rights away of the child and not paying child support. Or possibly paying a reduced child support because of her moving away?

Termination of your parental rights requires Court approval, and a finding that such would be "in the best interest of the child." You can't just "sign away your rights."

If Mom agreed to it, you could probably get a voluntary termination order signed by the Court. If she objects, then you won't get it.

Next time, use contraception.
