Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

What are the steps to establish paternity from a unwilling mother?

I have a kid, we are not married, and I'm not on the birth certificate. I would like to gain paternity, and gain visitation/custody. My basis for custody is the mother does not work, whilst I do. We live in different states. I live in Texas, mother in Illinois.

Any advise?

James Bayles The Bayles Law Firm

you will need to contact an attorney licnesed in the home state of the child. that is the state that will have jurisdiction. you cannot show her to be an unfit parent simply because she is not employed.
