TPR and ADOPTION

my wife and i are grandparents who has legal TEMPORARLY guardianship of our 2 grand chidren. the bilogical parents has refused to abide by the court rules and ect.the father has totally abbandoned them and the mother(our daughter)seldom ever comes to visit and provides no help with children and the father too.we feel that it is in the best interest of the children to adopt and give the the idenity they deserve by giving them my last name.we have had the legal guardianship for over 3 years,and we feel like this is necessory so the children will not suffer any emotionable problems now and through out their life.ages 4&6 years old.

It should be a fairly easy matter to prove to the court that your adoption would be in the best interest of the children. I've seen this happen several times before. If fees are an issue, ask at the district clerk's office where the child welfare cases are held. Visit a couple of those sessions, hang out there in the back a few days, and ask one of the attorneys who works on these cases. Many of those attorneys take a sincere interest in helping children and may offer fee options that you can handle. Good Luck.
