Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

I and another tenant both signed a lease agreement to rent a house for one year. We also agreed, orally, to split the bills evenly. After three months the other tenant quit paying and moved out, leaving me to pay all obligations. Since then I have paid all rent and bills. I have receipts and documents showing all payments from my account. The tenant remained on the lease the entire duration, and other parties can confirm the oral agreement. Now that the lease is coming to an end, is it legally possible to have the other tenant repay the portions back to me they agreed to pay in the first place?

This is the kind of lawsuit you shouldn't bother with: Trying to recover money based on an oral contract.

If you did actually get a judgment against this person, the odds are greatly against you ever being able to collect it.
