Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

I did work on a car for someone and they paid me to do it. I have witnesses and receipts to show and prove that the job was legitimate and the car was running great when I dropped it back off to the owner. The called almost a month later stating they were taking me to court because I didn't fix the car. I immediately offered the receipts and witnesses but they refused and stated they were sueing me. Now, almost two months later they want receipts. Am I obligated to give them receipts? I have them declining the receipts on tape.

Have you actually been sued yet? It makes a difference.

If I were you, I'd go ahead and give them copies of the receipts. MAIL the copies to them by certified mail with a return receipt requested.
