petition for wife

i got married to my wife 8 months ago i am petitioning for her to become a resident in the meantime will she be required to leave the country until process is complete

If you're wife entered the U.S. illegally, she will have to consular process - which means she will be required to leave the U.S. to obtain her green card. If she entered the U.S. with a visa, she will be able to adjust her status in the U.S.
