Legal Question in Insurance Law in Texas

question about my son and accident

I was in a car accident on 12-02-07. My 15 year old was driving (with driver's permit). I was the passanger. I was driving my new 2007 Volk Passat Turbo. It was paid for by cash we withdrew from a line of credit. We went to the doctor and he prescribed pain killers and muscle relaxers. My back still has a little pain, but my doctor said it was no big deal. Is it too late to visit a Chiropractor? Also I feel really bad for my son as it was his first accident. The police ticketed the other car (ran a stop sign). Damages to my car were@ $11K. We were without my car for 1 1/2 month. Their insurance paid for a rental. My son did poorly in school because he said that he was shocked and I think it emotially stressed him. I am comission paid only, but I lost 2 big loan because I was taking the muscle relaxers and pain killers and it was hard for me to focus or understand what I was doing. The insurance wants me to settle. They said they will give me $500 for each of us and we don't have to submit any paperwork. However, I am concerned about my back and was wondering if I can still go see a Chiropractor or is it too late? I called an attorney that airs commercials about auto accidents the receptionist said not interested

Re: question about my son and accident

You have really waited too long to try to do anything with an attorney on this case. Maybe you have medical payments (personal injury protection -PIP) on your car. This insurance can be used to pay for your chiro bills and any other medical claims. You can still take the $500 the other ins. co. is offering. If you back hurts after this is all over, nothing can be done about it now. Good Luck.
