Re: a new home

It sounds like you bought the house without getting an inspection done and without getting a copy of an inspection report done by the seller. The buyer is generally responsible for knowing what they're buying, but you can get more help from the Office of the Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division or an attorney. This sounds like a serious matter.

Re: a new home

The inspection ordered by the loan officer is strictly for the lender to make sure the house is there. It's not to make sure that everything is proper.

That's an inspection that you should have ordered. But there still should be work covered under warranty since it's a new home.
