Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Texas

We recently moved in an apt.. i got a call from leasing office saying that we were making noise now this is the day we were moving and we both work from 6:30 am - 9:30 pm we have our own business and so we had to move at night well we were at fault so kept quiet... Now i got another call from the leasing office manager saying that my neighbour complained about us running up and down stairs, washing clothes, walking and all the bs and if it continues she would put in a lease violation... OK i am confused... its only me and hubby at home we are not kids that we will run up and down the stairs certainly not crazy either.. secondly how can she put in a violation with out documented proof?? if i am washing clothes at night than thats the only time i get.. I am a paying customer and this is my house not a hostel.. i would understand if i was having wild parties and cops were being called over and stuff but washing clothes walking in my own house? And how can she thinks that its would a lease violation without documented proof? If my neighbors can hear me walking sounds like a property problem where the walls are so paper thin that everything can be heard... Can she actually put in a lease violation for this kind of stuff specially when no one from management has heard and no cops have been called over this stuff... what is our stand on this , any help be appreciated

This really depends on what your lease and any by laws say. Do these activities actually violate a term of the lease?

To the extent that these items are not addressed, it would seem that washing clothes and moving in are necessary activities.

It sounds to me like your neighbors have grown accustomed to living next to an empty apartment.

Both you and your neighbors have a right to quiet enjoyment of premises.

Suggest you have a talk with the leasing office and find out which provisions of the lease they contend you would be in violation of.
