Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Texas

first letter of form to file against a county hospital and to whom I submit

I have been advised by private attorney the first step to filing against a county hospital has to be done 6 months

after the surgery. Due to complications I received during routine surgery it required me to have additional major surgery. Being a single mom of a multi handicapp child, the surgery has finicially devasted my family. My question is what does the content of the letter need to state and do

I just need to send it to the facility and/or whom?

Medical malpractice cases are extremely complicated and have specific notice periods and requirements. Do not attempt to initiate one on your own! The hospital and doctor will not be intimidated just because you sent a letter claiming malpractice; especially since Prop 12 passed in September 2003. You stated you spoke with an attorney, I recommend speaking with others and hire one if he or she thinks you have a claim.
