Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Hit by 18 wheeler

I was broadsided by 18 wheeler in which the truck driver claims he did not see me, however his insurance company has claimed liability. I'm currently going to a chiropractor twice a week for treatment for my back. Luckly, I had no other injuries. The claim adjuster told me to call him back once I got all my medical bills in. I know I'm entitled to my time lost from work and medical bills but what about my pain and suffering? How do I put a dollar amount on that? Before the accident, I never cared about riding beside an 18-wheeler on the highway. Now, I'm horrified that they want see me again. I'm not looking for millions and really don't want to have to sue but how do I come up with a reasonable settlement offer

Re: Hit by 18 wheeler

Yes it is possible to collect for pain and suffering. The amount available depends on the type of medical treatment and the type of injury. I *strongly* recommend your hiring a lawyer to assist you with this.

Negotiating with an insurance company can be difficult, especially when the average person is dealing with a professional who settles claims for a living. I advise that you speak with a personal injury attorney as soon as possible.
