Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Home invasion assault without adequate locks/peepholes on rental property

On 4-22-2000 I was assulated in my home which I rent. I heard a knock at the door and thought it was a friend I was expecting, I opened the door and a man was standing there, as I went to close the door he kicked it open came in and assulated me and left. At the time I had no peephole on the dooor and no way to view the porch area. Can I sue the land lord for inadequte locks and viewing devices and the personal injuries I recieved, or has the statue of limitations ran out?

Normally there is a 2 year statute of limitations in personal injury and negligence cases. Make an appointment with an attorney and give them all of the details. Perhaps there is some cause of action where the Statute of Limitations has not expired. Good Luck.
