Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Legal fee's

What are the average legal fee's for a motorcycle vs. automobile personal injury case? Are the fee's generally percentage based? If so how much for court/out of court settlements?

Re: Legal fee's

Most attorneys charge 1/3. However, if you read their contract carefully, the fee usually goes up to 40% if they file suit and 45-50% if they take your case to trial. I think that's too much. (Why should a lawyer get several thousand extra dollars just by filing a piece of paper with a court?) Our firm charges a flat 35%, and that fee does not change no matter how much work we have to do, and even if we have to go through a trial on your behalf.

Re: Legal fee's

1/3rd is the customary fee. Yes. 1/3 if a lawsuit is not filed. I am able to get most of my cases settled without ever having to file a lawsuit and am board certified in personal injury law. Please let me know if I can help you.
