Slander Suit
I work for a company where a contract employee reported that I take kickbacks from contractors that do work for our clients. I was cleared of those allegations after the investigation. Now he is saying I am having sex with underage girls

A defamation claim has a one year statute of limitations. You could sue him. Unless he has sufficient assets, however, you will likely not be able to find an attorney to help you on a contingent fee basis.
From a practical point of view, if one fights a defamation claim it necessarily brings extra attention to the lie and will prolong discussion concerning it.
