Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

My son was injured in an accident in July of 2009 he has not received a settlement yet when we call his lawyer all we get is a answering machine what should we do?

You might try mailing a letter to the lawyer explaining how you need to be updated on the case, and how you have had trouble reaching anyone at the office. If your messages haven't been returned in a few days, include that in the letter. You should probably send it certified, RRR.
