Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

Waiting on Settlement

I have been waiting for my son's settlement for almost a year. It is a very easy case and I am not getting any information.

My question is.. can I call a t.v. station and have them investigate it? There is a station where I live and they try to help people. I guess what I am asking is if I have a lawyer can I inform another party about the situation?

Re: Waiting on Settlement

Tell the lawyer or his office of your frustration..remind them you could file a grievance and you need info on your case, and do that before going publich which may hurt your case. If the case is in "litigaiton" then it is not "easy".....but call and make clear what you need.

Re: Waiting on Settlement

Rather than going public, try to talk to your lawyer. If you feel like you've tried to do this without any success, then you have the right to fire your attorney subject to any claim he has for attorney fees and expenses. That claim, however, is weakened considerably when an attorney is failing to communicate with the client.

You should probably talk to an attorney to go over your situation in more detail.
