Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

We have documentation that our family owned 500 acres in what is now Manhattan,New York. It was leased by our ancestor to Aaron Burr who then leased it to New York for 99 years. At the end of that lease the land and all improvements were to go back to the family. Of course that never happened. We don't want Manhattan back, but what can we do about a settlement or acknowledgement?Through the years our family has sent lawyers to investigate and none of them have ever gotten in touch with the family again, but one started his own law firm and another was made a partner in a firm in New York. Thank you.

I am interested in helping if I can. When did the lease expire? Do you have a copy of the lease between your ancestor and Mr. Burr? Do you have a deed? I am happy to look into things for you. Contact me at the office if you would like to discuss further. My toll free number is 866-483-2649. I'm Ryan B. Bormaster with D. MIller & Associates.
