Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

propery

my dad want to leave his property to my brother, which is common law married, & has a family of 4. i have 2 other brothers and 5 sisters.we all agree with him keeping property. what we dont want is for him to sell out of family.

my question is does he need to do anything as far as swiching propery papers now?

He has a few options. If he's worried about the son selling the property, then he can transfer a life estate to the son. This allows the son to occupy the property for the son's lifetime, and, upon the son's death, the property would revert to whomever the father choses.

Dad should have a will prepared to that his wishes can be carried out at the time of death.
