My father passed away six years ago. He was married to his third wife for only 9 months when he passed away. I am the only child and want to sell the property and want to know if the wife is entitled to any of the property. There was no will.

The questions: Is the property her homestead? If so, she is probably entitled to a life estate.

Then, did he purchase the property prior to marriage?
