Hello!

Good precise question. What follows is a precise answer!

Each State resident receives (or potentially receives) a portion of their monthly SSDI stipend from state funds.

What this means is that on a state by state basis, some or all of the SSDI benefits package is managed by a State Agency as well as on behalf of the Social Security Administration.

Therefore, the benefit amount may well differ from state to state. You can probably go onto the Soc Sec web site and plug in Texas and get some more answers or go to the Texas State Agency and inquire there.

SSDI benefits are based upon "cost of living" after eligibility has been determined. My guess is that the benefit amount will probably go down slightly as Texas is probably less costly to live in than California.

YOUR SISTER MUST affect a transfer through the local office BEFORE she moves. Thos details can be obtained at any Soc Sec office in a brief meeting.
