Ancillary proceedings in Oklahoma

My sister and I receive small monthly oil check from Ok.Company which is holding 1/3 of income until "ancillary" proceedings completed in Oklahoma. Reason: Mother & father adopted son-died of drugoverdose;disinherited; children, grown, married, gone (addresses unk).Mother's Will left 50/50 to natural son & daughter. Will probated in Co.of son & daughter's residence.Question:(1)Procedure followed to file Probated Will in Ok?(2)Is filing in County of Oil producer's bus.address or location of wells? (3)Do I take certified probated records to that area and tell Co.Clerk I wish to file an "Ancillary" petition or filing? Reason for this request:on SS,very limited income and disability retired.Managed to write my own Probate papers from local law library.Realize that Attorney should be contacted but small amount involved not cost affective.Any suggestions or help gentlemen?? Thank you!!

Re: Ancillary proceedings in Oklahoma

Sometimes the oil company will take an affidavit of heirship filed in the county in which the oil producing property is located. You should contact the persons responsible for making the distributions and ask them whether or not they would take this alternative since the ancillary probate cost is significantly more than what you will be receiving.
