If your friend's mother had no assets, there is probably not much to do. If she has property or assets, your friend needs to contact a lawyer in the mother's state of residence. Best of luck.

Hurst, Eh? I live in Hurst and my office is in Bedford. Sorry, I digress. The extent and nature of the estate and the domicile and residence of your mother have quite a bit with the next step. Your first step is to determine whether she had a house and a car and whether she had monthly payments due on those items. You should discuss with your brothers and sisters what y'all want to do with her estate. If you would like, you may e-mail me at [email protected] http://www.reasonable-doubt.com
